Montessori Materials for Parts of the Bird Activity

Once the child has learned about the classes of vertebrates, particularly the Birds, they might be interested in learning about the parts of the bird.

Birds are important members of many ecosystems. They help control pests, pollinate plants, and keep the environment healthy. Birds are also useful to people, providing food and fertilizer.

Before learning about their parts, have the child observe an actual bird or a model to help them have a more concrete grasp on the subject.
